Okay i haven't posted anything on my blog during the past few weeks and sorry for that. I haven't been that busy not have the time for even a blog post just that i didn't have anything on my mind to share with you guys but obviously now i do.
Posts panda or even before panda most of you would have been aware of the fact that search engines value in contextual links like no other. Back in 2007 i used doorway pages much like what people still use to niches like pharma.I used to do it on free classifieds sites post some duplicate content and have a link from it.Though today doorway pages have become more of a traffic funnel than link juice funnel with pharma affiliates using authority sites as their doorways.
So things have changed a lot since those days.Now even in contextual links have so many conditions attached to it. As a result now its easier to bring down your competition on SERP than before :) but that's different area completely. No duplicate content, No free ads sites, No bulk contextual links were some of the rules google introduced in fall of 2008 but Yahoo some reminded the same i could still knock the shocks of sites on yahoo.
I started using web 2.0 sites and free hosting sites examples freehostia where you can get free hosting plus any sub domain you want ( gleeclub.freehostia.com or parishiltonsgucci.freehostia.com ) or whatever. Instead of duplicate content we used spun content. Yes! before best spinner or spinner cheif you had to do it with a PHP script and the articles were not exactly readable.I was just a bunch of words mixed to together that made no sense but it passed duplicate content test that matter most.
In 2010 google woke up from their lumber in 2009, they made absolutely no attempt to change their algo's in 2009 so it wasn't a surprise that 2010 is going to be a joy ride for SEO.It was about time i started my own network and stopped relying on external sites for contextual links. So i decided to built my own network fo sites from scratch.No! i didn't buy domain from dropped domains market as i wanted full control over things. If you are researching anything always start with a clean slate.
Google decided to shred the linkwheels of its rubber, the linkwheel which is a bunch of web 2.0 or other backlinks interlinked together to form a gaint wheel to pass on the link juice from other sites to the money site.SEO's professionals thought that they can get away with creating spammy links on web 2.0 and other backlinks rather than risking money sites. In google's eyes link juice that such links carry and they did just that it was innovative in their part that they totally didn't devalue these links.No matter how big your link wheel was it still carried the same linkjuice.
In 2011 Before the panda a serious of update all intended to protect the most important of backlinks google relied on rolled out. No the linkwheels have more or less before dead. You its better to get links from each web 2.0 separately than join them together to form a linkwheel. The spun content also had to be readable no some random works mixed together. Best spinner or spinner chief should be the best SEO tool of year. Anyway my blog network now had over 20 high class sites from PR 3 - PR0.I spammed the shit out of 5 of the network sites those where the ones to gain PR :) so we can also conclude PR can be most times misleading. In fact the links from my sites that had no PR has more weight.
I will was never a fan of article marketing sites as those links came and went like flies but the real benefit is that you get links variety in your backlinking due to multiple IP's, domains and in contextual links.If you cannot afford a private blog network go for article marketing. I will blog about niche blog network and the service i might launch tomorrow or within this week. I have been repeatedly asked to open up my blog network or start a contextual link service. The only problem with that is Man power unlike other links i find it extremely difficult to automate such links so need time to build a team of experts who can handle such links

So last week i had explained how some of my sites reacted to the recent google panda update.And my team was working furiously behind the scenes to figure out a way to dominate search's posts panda. I guess some of BHSEO's previous customers already would know by now that we are going to launch a privately owned social bookmarking service.
I promised you it would be available by June but unfortunately the panda hit without warning it got postponed.We did another experiment with the panda being the target this :) ...Well what better way to prove a service that just show to customers what it can do!
We where targeting two keywords "google panda update" and "google panda update 2.2" with my previous blog posts.And used the new social bookmarking services to rank them on search.All this done posts panda. We scraped everything that was done before that, its also the reason why we went on to rank a completely new post which had no age and was posted just 7 days ago.
The results are out and you guys can judge for yourself. Just google those two terms and check the rankings.. when i did it tha ranking were No#2 on google for "google panda update 2.2" and no#27 for "google panda update"

Yes that was Cnet.com :) before us and i made a typo on the feburary .These ranking may last for a month or week i am not sure but the point i am trying to make here..if you aint social you aint going nowhere with panda now you know why i call it bulls eye" SEO ..hit it right at the centre.Finally three month long prep and effort has paid off..
This new service will not be launched immediately as i totally didn't expect this much success out of it.So will be phasing this out slowly first use will go to my previous customers...Cheers have a gr8 week end everyone...good my GF hates when i open my laptop on Sundays. bye for now
Hello guys i haven't blogged here for a while but work, work and more work is the reason why i couldn't blog more often.But i promise that will blog more often giving more insights into the experiments that goes behind every single SEO service that I ever sell.
On June 7th 2011 , the weather was crisp. coffee was great and there was 100 emails in my inbox, and i was looking forward to another normal day in the office.but some of the guys in the office started raising the alarm as two of my big sites took a big dip in rankings.
On analysing the sites that lost ranking and comparing it with SEOMoz ranking factors 2011 we couldn't find the odd one out.Everything was done according to the white hat book.Something similar happened to one of my sites during my early days my first site which was an social network (which still runs well) had a similar fate only to return stronger.
Now we are going into the realms of assumption and observation.
Why did the update happen ?
I have couple of my friends working in spam team and usually they dont know what the heck is going on as well, programmers are left in the dark during most of the decision making and investors call the shots.What this has to do with the latest update well eventhough Matt cutts may deny it i think most of the decisions made in the last series of updates are very much centered around stuff that make money to google.Mainly the stuff that a company called demand media run.But to the credit of matt cutts he has done well to resist all he can but eventually like in every facet of life money wins.This is the war that will determine how search is going to be in the immediate future.
What are the changes ?
I dont have a list of SEO warriors to power through a survey like SEOMoz to provide you will stats.Though i am skeptical about those stats you cant do SEO experiments in a months time period.SEOMoz ranking factors survery was conducted just 1 month after the febuarary google panda update.Which not enough time to guage the changes accurately.But it does give you a overall picture on what's hot and not.
So What is Hot ?
Apparently SCRAPER sites, the likes of which use duplicate content from various sources.All your Wp robot, WP mage and other wordpress sites are the target of this update.So its not exactly shooting in the dark but some collatral damage is to be expected. Some of the most severly hit sites include ehow, buzzle and ezine. all had sufficient loss in revenue to push them into knee jerk reactions.I know of a guy who published 700 odd article in ezine who got banned without a warning :) imagine 700 pages of unique content gone.
Ironically while most of the initial knee jerk reactions were centered around duplicate content some of my autoblogs which used feeds and a rewriter began to rank pretty well.Infact i had a site gaining 300% more traffic for no apparent reason.I havent touched the blog in ages.Only reason i see why that site got better rankings are
- Site was older than the site from where the content was scrapped
- Site pages backlinks than site that had original content
- Site was socially more active
So if you can ensure these three factors are taken care of on your autoblogs you will have a very successful blog in present scenario.Its hard to imagine why people call the panda update a verdict against duplicate content when instances such as these illustrate its far from it.Infact i was surprised by bing which seem to be going the righ way as not to implement experiments on live search every three months.
The pie chart below is from SEOMoz survey which also clearly points out factors that affect a pages ranking on search.Using these factors wisely can counter Duplicate content penatly
What do I think ?
Like if any cares :) but still i will go ahead and say what i think about these frequent updates. The frequency of changes from google in the recent months are not what you can say webmaster friendly how many companies or businesses in the world have a resources like SEOMOz to commission SEO experiments on such short notices and optimise their sites accordingly.In the end there will be a handful of big heavy weights who will muscle their way for a period and rinse & repeat.
Unlike google , Bing's strategy of doing their experiments behind closed doors and not updated the search frequently may help them in the long run.Providing users with a better search result which is stable and not turbulent

Looking Into The Future
But this definition would be suitable may be in 2008 but google has moved on, technology has moved on and so are the methods and purposes involved in creating doorway page.The link farms needs to adapt to the changes in google's alogrithm and what was important in 2008 is no longer important.
